Russ Elliott is a New York native who had his first mural commissioned while he was in the air force. He is a designer's painter who loves the challenge of his work. In working hard to sell his paintings, Elliott's reputation has gradually spread.
Russ Elliott is a noted muralist with incredible ability in his interpretations of animals, landscapes, still life's, and portraits. His works generally fall into three categories: those of a Rousseau style which feature primarily wild animals (for he is an ardent animal lover); traditional landscapes and still lives; and palette knife works.
Russ Elliott's murals are often done on canvas, then affixed flat to a wall resulting in a classical fresco effect. He utilizes the beauty of floral patterns, chintz motifs, and the flavor of Early Americana.
Russ Elliott is credited with commercial murals such as the Copacabana, Mortimers, the McAlpin Hotel, and the Gaslight, which may all be found in Manhattan. His work has been shown in Bloomingdale's and Bonwit Teller in New York, and in Jordan Marsh in Miami and on the west coast. His paintings and prints also adorn important homes in Palm Beach, New York, and California. ...
